Retail process automation3D Furniture Configurator
Custom furniture orders at a European manufacturer used to pass through several hands: a sales manager wrote them up with the customer, and they reached production by hand. Now customers design the piece themselves on a 3D kiosk in 50+ stores, and the order goes straight to the factory. ImproveIT built it on the manufacturer’s existing ERP, pricing and 3D systems, with an AI-assisted workflow since 2026.

Business challenge
The manufacturer sells through more than 50 stores in several European markets, both ready-made furniture and pieces configured to order. Almost everything on a piece can change, from size and layout to upholstery, finishes and motorised functions, so the combinations run into the thousands. Each store also has its own range and its own prices, in its own currency.
Catalog, configuration rules, prices and 3D graphics already lived in the manufacturer’s ERP-driven systems, the same ones behind its online configurators. The new platform had to plug into them as they are: keep them the single source of truth, never ask anyone to enter data twice, and turn a configuration on the shop floor into a correct production order.
Our scope included
- Mapping retail, manufacturing and ERP processes into product requirements
- An Android kiosk app with a real-time 3D configurator
- A web admin panel for head office and every store
- An integration layer over the existing ERP, pricing and 3D systems
- CI/CD, infrastructure and an AI-assisted delivery workflow
Product overview
The platform automates the path from a store visit to an order. On an Android kiosk, customers and sales staff configure sofas, beds, chairs, armchairs and tables in real-time 3D: size, seat height and depth, modules and layout, fabric or leather, wood and leg finishes, headrests and armrests, storage and sleep functions, electric or manual recline, heating, massage, USB charging, table tops and extension leaves. Every change appears in 3D and in the store’s price at once. Ready-made items sit beside configured ones, and the basket is placed as an order directly from the store, with configured pieces going straight to production.
Behind it, an integration layer keeps catalogs and prices current without manual work. It syncs the manufacturer’s catalog on a schedule and on demand, applies each store’s range, prices and currency, and calculates prices live through the manufacturer’s own pricing service. When an upstream update is unsafe to apply, it keeps the existing data and tells admins why.
A web admin panel gives head office and every store one place for catalogs, pricing, stores, kiosks, users, orders and news, in six languages.
