Business challenge
ZhorTech makes smart footwear powered by wearable motion sensors. Its solutions provide biomechanical analysis and health monitoring for healthcare, safety and sports performance.
They needed a cross-platform mobile app that communicates securely with its smart footwear and handles complex workflows: calibration, authentication, data analysis and real-time monitoring. The product is safety-critical, so stable device connectivity, accurate data and consistent quality across iOS and Android were the hard part.

Product overview
The app works with safety footwear for construction workers. The shoes monitor the load on the wearer’s feet, detect falls, identify slipping risks and track rest periods, and the app passes this data to the employer.
Workers connect their shoes by scanning a QR code, calibrate them and sign in with two-factor authentication. The app tracks activity such as walking, climbing stairs, kneeling and crouching, analyses it and makes recommendations based on the activity log. It also covers geolocation, notifications about connection status and charging, firmware upgrades, and an editable profile with work-related details.
